Increase to fees from 18 November 2024

Dear Patients,

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change to our fees at Prince Henry Medical Practice.

Due New South Wales State Government decision to impose a new Payroll Tax Levy on medical practices, we have unfortunately had to increase our fees by $8. The fee increase will come into effect on 18 November 2024.

In June of this year, the New South Wales State Government announced that it would be implementing a substantial Payroll Tax for all medical practices statewide, effective September 2024. Payroll Tax is a tax levied by the NSW Government. Western Australia and Queensland have chosen to exempt medical practices in their states from this tax.

We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone, and we are mindful of the increasing cost of living. However, the new tax is a significant financial burden on our practice, now one of our biggest costs, and we have made every effort to absorb as much of the cost as possible.

We understand that this additional cost to our practice may raise concerns about your ability to access general practice care. If you have any concerns about how this levy might affect your healthcare access, we encourage you to voice your opinions to your State representative. You can search for your State Government member here:

We believe that this adjustment is necessary to maintain the high quality of care we provide to our patients. Without this change, we would be unable to continue offering the same level of service.

If you have any concerns or questions about this fee adjustment, please do not hesitate to contact our practice managers via email at info@princehenrymedical.com.au

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
